Date and Location
The competition will take place at Atterbury Theatre, Lynnwood Bridge, Daventry Street, Pretoria on the 3rd June 2017.
Divisions
Competitors may only enter up to one solo division and one duet division.
Competitors should choose the division that applies most to them.
Organisers reserve the right to change the division of a competitor.
No compulsory moves, no prohibited moves.
Elite Division (mixed men and women)
This division is for competitors who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the last 12 months, in South African national competitions at Advanced or Professional level.
This division is also for international Advanced or Professional level competitors and professional performers of pole sport/art.
Professional Division (mixed men and women)
If you are an Advanced level instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
If you have recently participated in any Advanced or Professional level competitions, nationally or regionally.
Elite & Professional Duets Division (mixed men and women or same gender duets)
For duet competitors who have previously placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the last 12 months, in South African national competitions at Advanced or Professional level.
For Professional duet performance artists.
For international Advanced and Professional level duet competitors.
If either partner is an Advanced level instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
If you (as a duet) have recently participated in any Advanced/Professional level competitions, nationally or regionally.
Intermediate Division (mixed men and women)
If you are an Intermediate level instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
If you have recently participated in any Beginner/Amateur/Intermediate level competitions, nationally or regionally.
Intermediate Duets Division (mixed men and women or same gender duets)
If either partner is an Intermediate level instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
If you (as a duet) have recently participated in any Beginner/Amateur/Intermediate level competitions, nationally or regionally.
Amateur Division (mixed men and women)
Pole dancing for approximately 3-24 months.
May not be an instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
Previous experience in a regional competition at Beginner/Amateur level is acceptable.
No previous national competition experience.
May not be a professional performer of pole art/sport or related discipline.
Amateur Duets Division (mixed men and women or same gender duets)
Pole dancing for approximately 3-24 months.
Neither partner may be an instructor of pole dance/pole sport/pole fitness.
Previous experience (as a duet) in a regional competition at Beginner/Amateur level is acceptable.
No previous national competition experience as a duet.
Neither partner may be a professional performer of pole art/sport or related discipline.
Entry
The competition is open to competitors of all nationalities.
The competition is open to competitors regardless of which studio they attend.
Competitors may enter on their own behalf as an individual, not representing a studio.
Competitors must be over 18 years of age on the day of the final competition.
The competitors will need to sign an indemnity upon entry.

A copy of the competitor’s valid ID (or VISA & Passport if applicable) will need to be submitted along with payment upon entry.
R310 is to be paid upon submission of entry for solo entries. R480 is to be upon submission of entry for duet entries.
Video Entry (Required for All Divisions)
Each competitor will need to send submit a video on or before the entry deadline in order to enter the competition.
Video Entry Guidelines
Video submissions:
May be up to two minutes long.
Do not have to be the piece proposed for the final competition.
May not be more than 6-months old.
Should consider elements on the scorecard as this will be used to judge the videos.
May show spinning and static pole moves (but not necessarily both).
May not be edited. May only show one continuous routine clip.
Must clearly show the competitor at all times.
Must be uploaded to Youtube, ‘Unlisted’ URL, or Google Drive or WeTransfer before the final deadline.
Final Selection
The highest scoring video entries will be selected to compete on the evening or Pole Art SA 2017.
The following will be the approximate selection per division:
10 Amateur Division
10 Intermediate Division
10 Professional Division
8 Elite Division
Duets will be finalised depending on the number of entrants
